Hello! We had a great day at camp today!
Our devotions were focused on how worship is an integral part of being God’s people, and how worship includes giving and sharing. This fit perfectly with our “Hebrew Moment”, lead by Zachariah K., who explained what it means to be God’s chosen people.
The memory verse for today was, “Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship” (Romans 12:1-2). It’s incredible to see how the campers are able to absorb and memorize these verses! And of course, they are very motivated to memorize them as they earn huge points for color war by reciting these verses.
It was pretty hot in the sun today, so we were sure to include fun water games for the entire camp as well as plenty of time to swim in the pool.
Our Mishkan service was a spirited time of worship. The worship team sang, “Praise Adonai,” “How He Loves Us,” and more. Our speaker continued bringing us through Nehemiah 6 and 7, helping our campers try to fathom how big and awesome God is. The message led to a number of deep questions during the night swim.
On Friday we will begin preparing our campers for Shabbat! We will be sure to update you on all of the activities leading up to and during Shabbat.
