We had an awesome start to Camp Kesher 2017! We opened up on Sunday as all of our campers arrived and settled into their cabins. Our first Mishkan service was highlighted by a talented worship team and an introduction to our theme for the week—“Daring to be a Daniel.” Our speaker, Bobby Walter, shared from Daniel 1 on how as God used Daniel as a young man, He can use you right where you are if dedicated to Him.
On our first full day of camp started with calisthenics. After breakfast we had a worship time in the Mishkan followed by a Hebrew moment from Dr. Michael Herts where he delved into the true meaning of Shalom. Then our campers were busy with Human Foosball, the Challenge Course, and Basketball in the morning. After lunch we split up into special electives including horseback riding, arts and crafts, improvisation and drama, basketball, boating, and Rock Climbing. After the electives we had a camp wide game called Sardines, which was followed by some free time. This evening we had more worship time followed by a great message from Ari Hauben on the second chapter of Daniel. We all had a great time!
The campers have also started memorizing their daily Bible verses. Every day all campers memorize the verse and recite it to their counselor. Today’s verses are Psalm 119:5-6. We are off to a great start. Please pray for us!
