Friday started with stretching, prayer, and breakfast. After breakfast, campers did their morning devotions. Friday morning’s verse was John 11:25. So far, the Bible memory continues to go well. After devotions, the campers headed to Mishkan (chapel) for some outstanding worship and a Yiddish moment brought to us by Israel Cohen. Then it was off to the giant swing, improvisation class, tie-dying camp shirts, and making challah for our Shabbat dinner.
After lunch, we had a camp-wide game of “capture the flag” followed by some free time. Many of the campers enjoyed the pool, horseback riding, the basketball courts, the arts and crafts room, and the snack shop during this time. Then campers dressed up for Shabbat dinner.
Shabbat dinner began with Dr. Michael Herts presiding over a brief Shabbat service in the dining hall and then some team captains said the blessings. The challah the campers made earlier in the day was really tasty, and of course, the grape juice reminded us of the sweetness of Shabbat and being in the presence of the Lord. Then it was back to the Mishkan (chapel) with some powerful, anointed worship. Dr. Michael Herts shared on what heaven will be like using Revelation 21, and he gave a clear message about the good news of Messiah. During the message, he gave an invitation and several campers raised their hands to accept Yeshua into their lives for the first time. Several other campers recommitted their lives to the Lord.
The night swim and Mikveh (Baptism) service was postponed due to thunderstorms, so we went indoors for some fun games. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Pray for endurance and that we may continue to remain strong in the Lord!
