Our first full day of camp started with calisthenics, and the teams for Color War were announced. In the past, there were two teams. However, this year, there are four. The competition will be intense and a lot of fun. After breakfast, there were cabin devotions followed by a time of worship in the Mishkan (chapel). This morning’s Hebrew moment was led by Dr. Michael Herts, who taught about Hebrew prayer and blessings. Then our campers were busy with soccer, human foosball, basketball, dodgeball, arts and crafts, and a challenge course in the morning. After lunch, the kids split up into special electives including horseback riding, street hockey, improvisation and drama, dance, boating, and rock climbing, as well as additional arts and crafts and another round of soccer. Then the camp-wide games commenced, including sardines, as well as sharks and minnows. In the afternoon, there was some free time and treats from the snack bar. This evening, there was another worship time, followed by a great message from Children’s Pastor Jonathan George on the legacy of forgiveness. He focused on Luke 15 and Isaiah 61. The evening ended with a night swim. Although the campers were worn out, everyone had a great time!
The campers have started memorizing their daily Bible verses. Every day, all campers memorize the verse and recite it to their counselor. Today’s verse was Colossians 3:14, “Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.”
The week is off to a great start. Please pray for us!
