Learn about our Team
Our Camp Directors are full-time ministry staff with Chosen People Ministries. Our counselors are recruited from a pool of CPM ministry staff, students at the Feinberg Center, and members of Messianic Congregations and churches in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. A number of our counselors grew up going to Camp Kesher and see the value of serving and pouring into the lives of the next generation of campers. We carefully vet and train all staff with background checks, child safety training, and personal interviews.
All of our camp counselors and leaders undergo a background check against criminal and sex crime databases and come with multiple references from spiritual leaders.

Robert Walter
Camp Director
Robert and Joanna Walter serve with Chosen People Ministries and have been part of Camp Kesher’s leadership team since 2014. Their service at camp has included teaching, preaching, arts & crafts, scheduling, counseling, and more. They have two young children (both campers!) and live in Brooklyn, New York. Robert completed his seminary studies at the Charles Feinberg Center for Messianic Jewish Studies in 2013 and now serves as a congregational leader at Beth Sar Shalom Brooklyn, as the New York Regional Director for Chosen People Ministries, and also teaches first-year Greek at the Feinberg Center seminary.
David
Counselor Supervisor
Some of you may know David from his long-tenured involvement with Camp Kesher. He has been a part of Messianic camps for the better part of two decades, ever since he tagged along with his Mom at age 6 when she was a counselor in the 90’s! He’s been blessed to be a counselor at Camp Kesher since it first started, and is currently involved with Messianic ministry in New York City. He is especially looking forward to the worship music, bible studies, color war, and the amazing friendships that are fostered while at camp.
Zach Karp
Activities Coordinator
Zachariah has a passion and love for kids! He grew up attending Camp Simchat Yeledim (the precursor to Camp Kesher) and Camp Kesher as both a camper and counselor. Currently, Zachariah lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife, Elisabeta. Fun Fact: Elisabeta and Zachariah have together participated in more than 45 youth camps and programs in the United States and Israel as campers, counselors, junior directors, and as a youth pastor intern.
Henry Monreal
Associate Director
Henry serves on staff with Chosen People Ministries and has been a camp counselor since 2021 at both the Camp Kesher East and West Camps. He has served as Activities Director, delivered powerful Mishkan teachings, and has tirelessly helped with camp scheduling as he seeks to impact the next generation for Messiah. He currently lives in New York City and is pursuing a Master’s of Divinity at the Charles L. Feinberg Center for Messianic Jewish Studies. It’s his great desire to see the campers encounter and connect with Yeshua and one another during camp!
