The sun was shining bright today and our campers began the day with fun and lively calisthenics before breakfast! We had our “Hebrew Moment” during morning worship with an emphasis on understanding what “kippah” and “tallit” are. Each cabin spent time doing morning devotions together. The devotion was based on God’s faithfulness and mercy toward us even when we are not faithful to Him. The Bible memory verse for the day was, “And Yeshua said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do'” (Luke 23:34). Our campers have worked very hard on memorizing these verses and are doing a phenomenal job reciting them.
We rotated group activities today, allowing our campers to climb the rock wall, go canoeing, and take a ride on the “V-swing.” In the afternoon we had Arts & Crafts, Improv Class, Self-Defense Class, and a spirited game of basketball. As you can imagine, the campers were still full of energy after all of that, so we had our camp wide game of “Flag Tag.” Lots of running, lots of laughing, lots of earning serious points for the color war! The current tally is 5,000 points for the Red Team, and 4,950 points for the Blue Team.
Our evening Mishkan service had some of the best worship yet. We sang “Good, Good Father,” and “Amazing Love,” among other songs and it was incredible to see how the Ruach was at work among our campers. Our speaker for this evening was Robert Walter, one of our camp directors from Brooklyn, NY. He shared on Nehemiah 4 and how opposition and discouragement are normal, and that “haters are gonna hate,” but that with God we can overcome.
Our day came to an end with a fun night swim. Keep praying for us as we have another full day tomorrow!
